Getting Started

How do I create an API key?

Register an account, then go to API Keys → Create New. The full key is shown only once — copy and store it securely. Keys can optionally be bound to a pricing group for discounted rates.

How do I call the API?

YesToken is OpenAI-compatible. Point your client or SDK at our base URL (https://yestoken.io) and use your API key as the Bearer token. Chat models are available at /v1/chat/completions, Anthropic-native calls at /v1/messages, and video generation at the Volcano Ark-compatible /api/v3/contents/generations/tasks endpoints (a simplified /v1/video/generate variant is also available).

Which models are supported?

See the Models page for the live list, including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Seedance video models, with per-model pricing and context tiers.

Billing

How does billing work?

The platform is prepaid: recharge your balance (via Stripe, minimum $10) and each request is charged based on actual token usage at the model's listed price, multiplied by any group rate on your API key. Long-context requests may be billed at a higher tier (see each model's pricing).

How is video generation charged?

Video tasks are billed per second of generated video. A hold is placed when the task is created and settled to the actual duration and resolution when it completes — if the task fails, the hold is automatically refunded.

Where can I see my usage?

The Usage page in your dashboard shows per-request consumption (tokens, cost, latency) for text and video separately, filterable by model, status, and API key, plus a per-key summary view.

Video Generation

Is video generation synchronous?

No. Creating a task returns a task ID immediately; poll /api/v3/contents/generations/tasks/{id} (or the simplified /v1/video/task endpoint) until the status becomes succeeded and a video URL is returned.

Can I use reference images, videos, or audio?

Yes. Pass them as content items with type image_url / video_url / audio_url. Use the role field on images (first_frame / last_frame / reference_image) to control how they are used.

Common Errors

  • 401 — invalid or missing API key. Check the Authorization: Bearer header.
  • 402 — insufficient balance. Recharge in the Billing or Wallet page.
  • 404 model — the model name is not registered on the platform; check /v1/models for available IDs.
  • 429 — rate limited; slow down and retry with backoff.
  • 5xx — the upstream provider failed; the gateway automatically retries backup channels. Persistent failures are logged in your usage records with status and error details.

Account & Security

I lost my API key. Can you recover it?

No — we store only the hash of your key. Delete the old key and create a new one.

Do you store my prompts or conversations?

No. We log only request metadata (model, tokens, cost, latency, IP) — never the content of your prompts or responses. See our Privacy Policy.

Still need help?
